How quickly can 3P Safety Staffing deploy a safety professional?
We present pre-vetted candidates within 48 hours of a scoped request; urgent requests are scoped the same day. Start dates are set at your approval and depend on travel and site access. Our pre-vetted network means we match, not recruit, when you call.
What certifications do your safety professionals hold?
Our professionals hold industry-recognized credentials including CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CHST (Construction Health & Safety Technician), ASP (Associate Safety Professional), OHST (Occupational Health & Safety Technologist), and OSHA 30/500-Hour certifications. Every credential is verified directly with the issuing body such as BCSP.
Do you staff safety professionals for government contracts?
Yes. We provide EM 385-1-1 qualified Site Safety and Health Officers (SSHOs) for USACE, NAVFAC, AFCEC, VA, GSA, and DOE projects. For cleared work we source clearance-eligible professionals under prime sponsorship and verify status per candidate; our federal professionals have experience with APP/AHA development, three-phase inspections, and CPARS documentation.
What industries does 3P Safety Staffing serve?
We serve construction, manufacturing, oil & gas, data centers, power & energy, pharmaceutical, environmental remediation, and government sectors. Our professionals are matched by industry experience so your refinery gets a refinery safety manager, not a generalist.
What does safety staffing cost?
Pricing depends on the credential level required, schedule and overtime, duration, location and travel, and site-access requirements. Every engagement is quoted in writing after a scoping call, and the quote states the hourly rate, any weekly minimum, overtime treatment, per diem and mobilization terms, and validity.
What Real Safety Staffing Actually Looks Like
The safety staffing industry has a credibility problem. Most agencies that market safety placements are general labor brokers with a safety-themed pitch deck, and their recruiters cannot meaningfully evaluate whether a candidate’s credentials match the work. The result is unqualified people landing on jobsites where the stakes are high. We built 3P Safety Staffing specifically to close that gap.
Every candidate is reviewed by someone who has done the work, holds the relevant credentials, and recognizes the difference between a paper qualification and field-tested competence. That review covers credential authenticity (we contact the issuing body when something looks off), employment history (we confirm dates and scope with the listed supervisor, not the HR phone tree), incident history (we ask directly about OSHA recordables and any role the candidate had in investigations), and reference depth (we want to talk to the project manager who worked with them daily).
The verification work happens before a client ever sees a candidate, which is why we can present qualified people within 48 hours instead of starting a search when you call. There is no shortcut to the verification itself. The shortcut is doing the work in advance and maintaining a continuously vetted bench, instead of starting from zero on every request.
EM 385-1-1, USACE, NAVFAC, and Federal Construction
Federal construction staffing is not the same as commercial. EM 385-1-1 (the USACE Safety and Health Requirements Manual) is more stringent than 29 CFR 1926, and SSHO responsibilities under EM 385 are specifically defined: documentation, AHA review, daily safety reports, weekly inspections, accident investigation, and direct authority to stop work. We staff SSHOs who have actually held the role on USACE, NAVFAC, GSA, and VA construction projects, not people whose only federal exposure was a one-week training course.
The same applies to CIH-qualified industrial hygienists on environmental remediation, fall protection competent persons on military construction, and confined-space supervisors on shipyard work.
We also handle the documentation side: candidate qualification packages formatted for government submission, references that include past federal performance, and the credential evidence contracting officers and prime contractor safety leads need to approve candidates quickly. The packages are not boilerplate. They are built for the specific project and reflect what the contract actually requires.
From Initial Call to Boots on the Jobsite
A typical engagement starts with a 15 to 30 minute scoping call. We need to understand the project, the role, the credentials required, the duration, the location, the rate range, and the client-specific safety program. From that conversation we pull candidates from the bench who match, run a final confirmation on availability and current credentials, and present a short list within 48 hours. The client interviews directly. There is no recruiter sitting between you and the candidate.
Once a candidate is selected, we handle the paperwork — the professional’s employment status and agreement, background and drug screening to your requirements, project-specific orientation, and the certificate of insurance with the endorsements your contract requires — confirm mobilization logistics, and track the engagement through its duration. If anything changes mid-engagement (project extension, role change, additional headcount, performance issue), we handle it directly without bouncing the client between account managers.
When Staffing Is Not the Right Solution
We will tell you when staffing is not what you need. If your real problem is a missing safety program, an inadequate written plan, or a compliance gap that a temporary placement will not fix, we will recommend consulting work first and staffing second. If your project genuinely needs a full-time permanent hire, we will say that and refer you to direct hire services rather than placing a contract person who will leave at the end of the engagement.
If you need training instead of staffing (a foreman who needs to become a competent person, a superintendent who needs OSHA 500, a crew that needs fall protection or crane training), we provide that through 3P Safety Services and will point you there. The goal is to solve the problem, not to sell hours.
That posture costs us short-term revenue and earns long-term clients. The companies we have worked with longest are the ones we steered away from a staffing engagement on a previous request and back to whatever actually fixed their issue. They came back when they needed staffing for real, and they brought referrals.
How We Verify Credentials Before You Ever See a Candidate
Credential verification on a typical staffing intake means glancing at a card photo, confirming the name matches, and moving on. That is not what we do. For every candidate on the bench, we confirm credentials directly with the issuing body when there is any ambiguity. For OSHA outreach training, we confirm the trainer was authorized and the course was delivered live where the contract requires it.
For NCCCO credentials, we confirm the specific designation matches the equipment scope (a Mobile Crane Operator card does not qualify someone as a Tower Crane Operator). For BCSP credentials (CHST, ASP, CSP, OHST, SMS, STSC), we check the public registry to confirm current status and the certification date. For first aid and CPR, we confirm the issuing body is recognized by the client’s safety program (American Red Cross, American Heart Association, ASHI, MEDIC First Aid).
For competent person designations, we ask for the documented training and the employer who made the designation, because competent person status is employer-conferred and not portable without context.
Background checks, drug screens and physicals are run to your project’s requirements before mobilization, not pulled from an old file. Project-specific orientations are completed before the candidate sets foot on the jobsite, and we provide certificates of insurance with the specific endorsements the client requires before mobilization, not after.
How Our Pricing Actually Works
Safety staffing rates depend on the role, the credential level, the project duration, the geographic location, and the specific scope. A short-term USACE SSHO placement in a remote location with a 12-hour-day schedule and per diem is priced differently from a six-month CHST placement on a metro commercial high-rise. We quote project-specific rates after the scoping call rather than publishing a price sheet that would either undersell complex placements or overcharge simple ones.
The rate covers the professional’s pay and payroll burden, workers’ compensation, general liability, professional liability and umbrella coverage, credential verification and our management of the engagement; per diem, travel, lodging and mobilization for traveling professionals are itemized in the quote.
Every quote states the hourly rate, any weekly minimum, overtime treatment, per diem and mobilization, notice terms and validity, and nothing is added later. If a placement is not working out, we work with you on a replacement. If the project ends early or runs long, the engagement follows the work on the notice terms in the agreement.
The Three Situations That Most Often Bring Clients to Us
First, a project win triggers a contractual safety staffing requirement (most often an SSHO requirement on a USACE, NAVFAC, GSA, VA, or other federal contract) and the prime contractor needs a qualified person mobilized faster than internal recruiting can produce one. We are usually the call that follows the first round of “we will need someone” emails between the project manager and HR.
Second, an existing full-time safety professional is out unexpectedly (medical leave, family emergency, sudden departure) and a project cannot run safely or legally without coverage. These are 48-hour mobilizations almost by definition, and they are exactly what the continuously vetted bench is built for.
Third, a client is scaling a project and the internal safety team cannot stretch any further without adding either temporary or permanent capacity. We can fill the temporary need immediately and, when the client decides to make a permanent hire, the placement can convert to a permanent hire on the conversion terms in the written agreement. The contract person who has been on site for three months is usually the strongest internal hire candidate when the client is ready to commit.
